Procurement, ordering, forecasting and distribution practices across the healthcare continuum is currently based on time-consuming multi-stage Peer-to-Peer (P2P) interactions across the key stakeholders. Delayed actions, data and pricing discrepancies typically take place through the healthcare service chain, deteriorating the End-to-End (E2E) service and patient/consumer experience. Existing research efforts and market products focus on the ease of access on shared data enabled by blockchain, focusing on Electronic Health Records (EHRs), drug supply contracts and billing of healthcare services to patients. Nonetheless, State-of-the-Art (SoA) still lacks methodological frameworks and tools enabling blockchain-backed discovery of multi-domain healthcare assets Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), slices, healthcare supplies, insurance products, treatments, clinical data) and multi-party coordination enabling timely consumption of healthcare assets.
Doctoral Candidate’s (DC) role: The DC will enable, within ELIXIRION for the first time, a fully automated blockchain-backed coordination of healthcare sub-systems spanning the Healthcare 4.0 (H4.0) service domains. To this end, a smart contract-enabled platform will be designed and implemented to allow E2E governance of H4.0 sub-systems founded on customized secure access to on-chain data posted in line with the interaction requirements across the H4.0 continuum. Multi-party and fully transparent coordination through customized smart contracts deployed in an online fashion (slice/resource granting, insurance agreements, procurement, and healthcare supplies), light-weight Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanisms enabling end points to participate in blockchain maintenance according to their functional capabilities along with smart incentive engineering mechanisms will be devised to this end. The DC will deliver a light-weight DPoS-driven smart contract enabled platform supporting 100K transactions per second (TPS) through the employment of layer-1 sharing schemes.

Doctoral Candidate (DC) is recruited under a Type A employment contract. The living allowance is a gross amount, including compulsory deductions under national law, such as employer and employee social security contributions and direct taxes. Moreover, the DC will be eligible to receive mobility allowance and family allowance (if applicable) that could also be subject to taxation.
