On April 2024, Dr. Dionysis Xenakis of NKUA hosted Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas, Full Professor and Head of the SIGCOM research group at the University of Luxembourg for an enlightening lecture.
Prof. Chatzinotas presented a lecture in the undergraduate course "Data Networks" on "Mega Constellations: Trends, Technologies and Vision", which was attended by over 100 undergraduate students and many faculty members from two local departments at the Euripos Campus of the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, i.e., the Digital Industry Technologies and the Aerospace Science and Technologies Departments.
Additionally, the ELIXIRION-MC project, a Marie Curie action with the University of Luxembourg, was further promoted with interviews of research fellows, including Symeon, on a Greek web TV channel focusing on advanced technology and entrepreneurship topics under T-PRESS Web TV.
During his stay, Prof. Chatzinotas also had the opportunity to collaborate with local SOVEREIGN fellows and meet with faculty members from NKUA, Harokopio University, and the University of Piraeus. This fostered exciting new collaboration opportunities and joint research efforts toward blockchain-backed, anonymity-preserving, contract-less mobile data access integrating terrestrial and non-terrestrial 6G networks, a key area of the SOVEREIGN research action.
Special thanks to the students at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, including key members of the X-TREND research group: Melina Dolapsaki, Panagiota Xepapadakou, Klearchos Palias and Anastasia Tsiota.
The resounding success of this collaboration echoes loudly!
